The ADPA Founders Awards presented were:
MaryAnn Buehn – Certificate of Appreciation for Dedication, Independence, and Integrity
Todd Hall
Todd Hall was awarded the ADPA Founders MaryAnn Buehn Award, for the exemplary traits of “independent, humble, dedicated, and organized.” Whether taking a call from a colleague, or answering the call of the community, perhaps Todd’s most known impact in the occupational dive community is his role in the OSHA v. Landry’s case. Through Todd’s involvement, this ruling became a pivotal precedent when reversed through appeal, to demonstrate that zoo and aquarium dives are indeed safe and have the ability to choose the standard that best fits the operation.
Jim Hart – Certificate of Appreciation for Passion, Commitment, and Generosity
Holly Bourbon
Holly Martel Bourbon was awarded the ADPA Founders Jim Hart Award, given in recognition of “committed, passionate, loyal, and generous” attributes. As fortune would have it, Mr. Jim Hart was able to join the 2023 ADPA Symposium to present this award to Holly, and personally recognize her for Holly’s more than two decades of unwavering service to the members and community of ADPA.
Randy Wilder – Certificate of Appreciation for Mentorship, Dedication, and Innovation
George Peterson
George Peterson was awarded the ADPA Founders Randy Wilder Award, for the distinguished traits of “mentor, innovative, expertise, and curious.” George continues to have a profound impact on the occupational diving community, served with distinction on the ADPA Board of Directors in numerous roles, and has demonstrated leadership to many young and seasoned dive program administrators for more than a decade.
